Background

A European executive group wanted to understand how China's electric vehicle ecosystem moves from concept to market with unusual speed. The brief was not a generic sightseeing request. The group needed business context, credible on-site learning, and a schedule that could work for a large senior delegation.

The challenge

The delegation included 38 participants across corporate, advisory, and investment backgrounds. The program needed to balance access quality, timing, interpretation, transport, and commercially relevant discussion without turning the visit into a tourism itinerary.

Our approach

We structured the agenda around three questions: what Xiaomi's EV push says about China's industrial platform, how the surrounding supplier ecosystem supports speed, and what overseas companies can learn from the operating model.

The operating plan covered delegation flow, bilingual support, arrival timing, discussion moderation, and post-visit synthesis. Each part of the day was designed to help executives connect what they saw on site with broader China new energy market dynamics.

Outcome

The group left with a clearer view of China's EV manufacturing capability, ecosystem density, and speed of commercialization. More importantly, the visit gave the delegation a shared reference point for future China market, sourcing, and partnership discussions.

Why it matters

Large executive delegations require more than access to a facility. They need a program architecture that converts a visit into decision-grade learning. That is the work Cross-Border Access is built to deliver.
